For Peever, South Dakota farmer Bob Metz, planting has been very slow. “Probably the slowest that I have seen it, I would guess we are 25-to-30 percent planted,” said Metz. “We got started on the 24th of April and thought it was going to go great, but it has rained every three or four days since then.” Metz expects acres to shift from corn to soybeans. “We got as much corn in the ground as we can. People will probably switch to planting beans and there will be a lot of prevent plant on the corn acres.”
