Stabenow, Scott Release Farm Bill Statement

Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow, House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member David Scott and House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries have met to discuss their farm bill strategy. Stabenow and Scott released a joint statement, saying a farm bill is needed that holds the historic coalition together that supports the nutrition program and the farm safety net. The two leading Democrats also criticized House Republicans for “undermining” that goal by splitting the coalition that has been the foundation of past farm bills.
