The world’s largest meatpacker reported first quarter net income of nearly $320 million. A year ago, JBS suffered a $290 million loss in the same quarter. The Brazilian-based company said there has been a shift in consumption from beef to pork. Domestic and international demand for pork increased. Margins in the beef division are being influenced by the current cattle cycle.
