The expansion of MinnesotaCare’s public option has been a legislative priority for the Minnesota Farmers Union. “If we could do one thing to make it easier for family farmers to build their businesses and make it easier for young families to get started in farming, it would be to figure out healthcare,” said Stu Lourey, government relations director, MFU. “We’re hearing from members who have $9,000 deductibles they have to meet before that insurance even kicks in.”
