A rule requiring companies to disclose their climate-related risk has been put on hold while a legal challenge moves through the courts. The Securities and Exchange Commission finalized this rule last month. A group of Republican attorneys general challenged the rule, arguing the agency went beyond its authority. A spokesperson said the AG offices took this action to protect businesses from costly red tape, secure the supply chain and defend family farms.
