The U.S. Meat Export Federation has released a report showing an economic impact of 14.6 percent per bushel of corn in 2023 by red meat exports. The Juday Group founder Dave Juday explains. “Red meat exports that both beef and pork used almost 513 million bushels of corn for feed,” said Juday. Red meat exports specifically account for about 87 cents per bushel of revenue. “If you apply that across the whole 2023 corn crop, that’s going to total $13.35 billion of additional revenue to corn production.” Similarly, pork exports contributed an estimated total economic impact of 13.9 percent of bushel value in 2023.
