Northfield Representative Kristi Pursell is sponsoring this bill that promotes regenerative agriculture practices, such as cover crops and no-till farming. “This is focusing for the first time as a pilot project in the southeast Karst Region of state; the idea is to figure out where the challenges lie before then rolling it out statewide,” Pursell told the House Agriculture Committee. “We’ve talked a lot about nitrogen in this committee (and) we’ve talked a lot about fertilizer, o this is continuing that conversation.” The bill will move to the environment committee before it returns to the House Ag committee.
