Eligible farmers in Iowa and Minnesota have an opportunity to participate in the Agroforestry Project. This incentive project is one of over 140 projects funded by the USDA’s Partnership for Climate-Smart Commodities. The Nature Conservancy is leading the project and can help fund implementing practices such as windbreaks, forest buffers, and forest farming. Producers can get, on average, $35 per tree planted and $450 per acre transition payment over three years.
