The application window is now open for a national pilot program that pays farmers and ranchers for implementing high-value conservation practices. If accepted for the Alliance to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture program, they will earn $100 per acre or animal unit. North Dakota is one of four states participating in this program with enrollment limited to Billings, Cass, Foster, McKenzie, Mercer, Rolette, Stark and Ward Counties. The North Dakota Farmers Union is the state lead for this program. March 21 is the application deadline.
