There seems to be a lot of indecision heading into the 2024 growing season. Bayer CropScience Senior Technical Sales Representative John Martin believes farmers are waiting for more information. “I think everyone is just trying to see where commodity prices land and especially when we look at federal crop (insurance) and what the guarantees are going to be,” said Martin. “It’s going to be so critical in a year like this.” Martin is hoping for timely spring rains. “With this open winter, I think we’re going to experience really dry, powdery soil so you’re really going to have to manage that topsoil residue.”
