The U.S. Commerce Department is lowering the duties placed on phosphate fertilizers imported from Morocco from 19.97 percent to 2.12 percent. The issue stems from a Commerce Department decision in 2020 that favored a petition by Mosaic, which claimed foreign companies unfairly flooded the U.S. market with low-cost fertilizers. The American Soybean Association and National Corn Growers Association opposed these duties and praised the Commerce Department decision.
