USDA Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a $2.3 billion investment to boost trade promotion and fund a regional agricultural promotion program meant to diversity export markets for U.S. ag products. Vilsack says with so much uncertainty in Congress, this will help strengthen trade opportunities. “We continue to look for way to increase trade opportunities, especially as we find ourselves with an unusual trade deficit in agricultural products.” $1.3 million will be allocated to the Regional Agricultural Promotion Program. Regulations for the program will be put in place by the beginning of 2024.
