Vietnam is reportedly interested in securing a trade deal with the Mercosur bloc which includes Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. This follows an attempt by the Mercosur nations to finalize a trade agreement with the European Union. Work has been underway on that deal since 2019, but it has stalled over environmental concerns.
