The sugarbeet pre-pile harvest is wrapped up for James Nelson, who farms near Moorhead, Minnesota and serves on the board of directors for the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association. Small grain harvest was a surprise. “We walked wheat fields before harvest and probably wouldn’t give two cents for it so we were shocked. It was a little above our average.” Nelson hopes soybeans follow the same pattern.
