Wheat growers in attendance at the day two wrap-up in Devils Lake lamented about the lack of rain and how poor their crops look. Wheat Quality Council Executive Vice President says the data collected does not reflect that sentiment right now. “The early planted wheat had some low-spot, flooding issues and is a little ratty; I’ll grant you that, but the later-planted stuff tends to be looking good,” said Green. “Yes, it needs a ran, but the leaves aren’t penciled up and it doesn’t look like it’s struggling.”
