Numerous farm groups were disappointed in the recent EPA announcement on the Renewable Fuels Standard. It is impacting the expansion of the soybean crush. Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council Director of Market Development Kim Nill saids Cargill put a hold on a major project. “That would have been the biggest of all these announcements at 200,000 bushels of crushing capacity per day.” The project would have generated 40 permanent jobs. “We know this project has been put on hold, but talking among the industry, we fear there might be more.”
