Ahead of the farm bill debate, North Dakota Senator John Hoeven and Montana Senator Jon Tester have introduced legislation to improve livestock disaster programs. This proposal better aligns coverage between the Livestock Forage Program and Emergency Assistance for Livestock Program. In increases LFP assistance to more accurately reflect feed costs and makes program improvements permanent.
