Temperatures at the start of the growing season have been warmer than normal. Peterson Farms Seed Lead Agronomist Rick Swenson says the heat has pushed the growing degree day units. “We’re probably about 250 GDU’s above normal.” Swenson says crops may be a little on the drier side in sandier soil. A good rain would help.
