In response to Mexico’s ban on biotech corn for human consumption, the United States has filed dispute settlement consultations through the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. A group of experts will now be asked to mediate the trade issue. National Corn Growers Association President Tom Haag praised U.S. Trade Ambassador Katherine Tai for taking this step. In a statement, North Dakota Corn Growers Association President Andrew Mauch said this action will show the Mexican ban is not based on sound science.
