The State of California will end the sale of gas and diesel-powered trucks by 2036. The rule also requires all fleet trucks be electric or zero-emission by 2042. The federal government needs to give its approval for the enforcement of this rule. This announcement was made Friday and follows a separate rule increasing the percentage of EV trucks sold in California. The American Trucking Association said “California is setting unrealistic targets and unachievable timelines.”
