Minnesota senior and junior high schools have nearly 40,000 agriculture students and more than 16,000 are members of the FFA. Twenty new FFA chapters chartered in the past five years with an additional 11 chapters welcomed into the organization last night. Minnesota FFA Foundation Executive Director Val Aarsvold says there is a common theme with these new ag ed programs. “School administrators really see that career and technical education really prepares its students for careers.” The FFA foundation is giving these new chapters a kick start. “For the first time, we are presenting new startup kits; these new chapters will receive chapter jackets, the officer markers, banners, gavels and everything to get them off to a great start.”
