Wireworms are a common pest for many Midwest farmers. BASF Seed Treatment Technical Representative Tracy Hillenbrand says wireworm repopulation can number in the hundreds. “The average female is able to lay 100 eggs per cycle, with up to three cycles per season.” Hillenbrand says seed treatment is the first step to prevent wireworms from establishing. “BASF’s new seed treatment insecticide, Teraxxa, is a novel mode of action that helps control wireworms.”
