Genetics and technology have changed the landscape for what crops are grown in the Red River Valley in the last decade or so. Channel Seed District Sales Manager Mike Dufault says he has really seen the change in corn acres in his area. “Corn used to be 120 to 130 average bushel per acre yields. Now we have products that’ll drive 200.” Said Dufault. With hybrids allowing for faster maturity, corn is grown all the way to the Canadian border. Dufault says it’s exciting to be a part of that growth with Channel Seed.
