The Minnesota Senate Agriculture Committee voted unanimously to recommend the confirmation of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen for a second term. The committee received letters of support from several farm groups including Farm Bureau, Farmers Union and commodity organizations. Testifying before the committee, Petersen said he plans to work on land preservation, farm transfers, dairy and climate policy during his next four years as commissioner. The confirmation process now moves to the full Senate.
