Farmers are putting orders in for crop inputs for the 2023 growing season. BASF Tech Service Representative Dan Melaas recommends farmers review what weeds were troublesome last year and what products helped control them. “Make a weed control plan for 2023 based on what went well and what didn’t. This year, we’re looking at setting up a good pre-emergence herbicide plan.” Melaas says layering residual herbicides helps manage yield loss and reduce pressure on the post-emergence herbicides.
