The first bill to be heard in the Minnesota House was the tax conformity bill. Minnesota has not adopted the many tax changes passed by Congress since 2018, resulting in a more complex tax return and additional compliance costs. “The tax conformity bill will be a lot of technical items that were in the tax conference committee report that was agreed upon, but not passed last year,” said House Speaker Melissa Hortman. Hortman said a bonding bill will also be completed in January. The House Agriculture Committee will meet for the first time Tuesday.
