During the NDSU Harvest Bowl dinner, Ken Grafton was recognized with the 2022 Agribusiness Award. Grafton began his career as a dry bean breeder. Over time, Grafton was responsible for the release of 11 new dry bean varieties including Eclipse, one of the dominant black bean cultivars grown in the U.S. Grafton went on to a career in administration with time as vice president of agricultural affairs, dean of the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources and interim provost.
