The September Consumer Price Index rose 8.2 percent. That’s down from 8.3 percent in August, but above trade expectations. The food-at-home index increased 13 percent over the past year. The index for cereals and bakery goods was up more than 16 percent. The meat, poultry and eggs index jumped nine percent and the dairy product index was up 15.9 percent.
