Given last year’s drought across the Canadian Prairies, lower ending stocks from Statistics Canada were expected. Ag-Chieve Inc. President David Drozd says there were a couple of outliers, including flax. “They’re showing an 85,000 ton carryout versus 59,000 one year ago. It’s up a little. The other one is also rye at 109,000 tons, up from 91,000 one year ago.” Drozd feels most of the other crops are in line with expectations.
