There is optimism about the crop making full maturity due to the recent heat. In today’s NDSU Crop and Pest Report, Extension Agronomist Claire Keene said there are still concerns with the corn crop. At the top of that list is stalk integrity. After a wet spring, the weather turned dry. Keene said that puts the crop under stress and more susceptible to stalk rot. The fields with the most stress should be prioritized for early harvest.
