New technology was on display at the Capistran Seed plot tour. “We’ve got hybrid wheat,” said Kevin Capistran. “It’s not a distant thing in the future anymore and we’re excited to see how they may perform in the future.” Soybeans developed through gene editing were also featured. “It’s going to be a part of every seed we see in the future. It’s a cleaner, non-GMO way of introducing whatever you want into the seed down the road.”
