The House Ag Committee reviewed climate issues, but, the House has not yet passed the Growing Climate Solutions Act. South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says it’s taken awhile for lawmakers to understand how to make this work. “How do you solidify these markets for carbon credits so things can have a lower carbon index and be more competitive? Producers need to receive payments for some of the practices they put into place they’d like to be able to monetize. Anytime you talk carbon, people want to make sure that we’re not going to mandate something.”
