Larimore, North Dakota-based Hoverson farms started planting potatoes this past week. “About every decade we have some kind of late spring, but we’re catching up. We have a lot of equipment that can put in a lot of potatoes in one day.” Due to the cold temperatures, Hoverson is glad he waited to plant. “If we would have had potatoes in the ground, we could have had seed issues. Now, a crop has a better chance at coming up successfully. Hopefully, we won’t have too many hard rains anymore.”
