Compared to last year, there has been a one-month delay for planting in the region. “Last year was super dry with no moisture and the ground was powder,” said Jason Hanson, agronomist, Rock n’ Roll Agronomy. “Do you want that or do you want to be further behind on the calendar? We haven’t accumulated any heat units, there’s no big loss there.” If the conditions are right, Hanson said farmers can plant quickly.
