Cornbelt Marketing market analyst Sam Hudson expects USDA to increase demand and decrease carryout in Friday’s report. “Demand should be steady to higher. USDA is going to have to grapple with this 89.5 million acres in their balance sheet in May,” says Hudson. “I’d think going into the spring and summer, we’d see demand dialed up at least to a small degree. Probably, even coming out of this weekend’s report, weather will probably play a much larger role in this market.” Hudson says traders will not ignore seasonal market trends. “We have to continue trading our typical seasonal tendencies on top of the geopolitical issues.”
