Meat exports for the week of March 21st saw a marketing-year high with beef net sales of 27,500 million tonnes. That’s up 40 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average. Beef exports of 41,800 million tonnes were up from the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily Japan, China, South Korea, and Mexico. Pork exports were down 39 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average, sitting at 23,300 million tonnes. Pork exports of 29,100 million tonnes were up 12 percent from the previous week and one percent from the 4-week average with Mexico, Japan, and China being the top export destinations.
