While not admitting liability, JBS SA agreed to pay $52.5 million to settle a beef price-fixing lawsuit. The allegations are JBS, Cargill, National Beef Packing and Tyson Foods conspired to limit slaughter volumes. This settlement still needs to be approved by Chief Judge John Tunheim at the federal court in Minneapolis. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is calling the settlement “deeply disturbing.”
