A bipartisan group of Senators, including South Dakota Senator John Thune and Minnesota Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, sent a biofuels letter to the EPA this past week. The lawmakers asked EPA Administrator Michael Regan to take four steps to ensure confidence in the Renewable Fuel Standard. Lawmakers want EPA to deny all Small Refinery Exemptions, maintain blending requirements for 2022, eliminate the proposed retroactive cuts to the 2020 RVOs and set 2021 volumes at statutory levels.
