The world’s largest trade show for the poultry industry, IPPE, took place this past week in Atlanta. Industry veteran Fred Kao is seeing one significant trend. “The drive we’re seeing right now around the world is going more and more with no antibiotics and more toward organic; that sector of the market is going to increase.” Kao is the vice president of global sales for Amlan International. Amlan develops products that improve the gut health of the bird, which reduces stress and improves performance. “A lot of people have the mindset that you have to add enzymes or other additives to make the mineral work, but in reality, you don’t have to. You can have a very competitive product price-wise for your birds’ performance naturally without adding anything else.”
