Another candidate being considered for the North Dakota State University presidency, University of Texas-Tyler Immediate Past President Michael Tidwell, says NDSU is special. “Not just for servicing all students across the state, but for having something that’s missing in many higher education institutions. NDSU takes the intellectual fire power of faculty members and points it outward into the region where it’s needed to grow and develop the economy.” Tidwell met with students and staff to discuss his vision for the university. “We need to grow the enrollment on campus and service those students. The second piece is growing the research portfolio.” The two remaining candidates will be interviewing the week of February 1: Hesham El-Rewini from Marymount University and Mary Holz-Clause with the University of Minnesota-Morris and Crookston.
