Hundreds of people showed up for meetings in Dickinson and New Salem highlighting the Biden Administration’s 30×30 proposal. NDFB President Daryl Lies describes 30×30 as a ‘land grab.’ “Especially, when you get into western North Dakota where they deal a lot of federal lands they understand how inadequate government management of land is and how it is better when it is in private hands.” The 30×30 concept was opened for public comment earlier this month. “There’s one real concerning statement in there about ‘preserving and protecting.’ Those on the extreme environmental side that don’t necessarily like us in agriculture use that as code words for taking land away from agricultural use.” Ag advocate Trent Loos was the headliner for the meetings hosted by NDFB district groups.
