The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is accepting applications for its new Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot Program. With this effort, 18, 19 and 20-year old drivers may operate commercial vehicles for interstate commerce. This program is designed to help with the truck driver shortage and ease supply chain disruptions. Â Previously, drivers under 21 years of age could not cross state lines while trucking.
