Brock and Associates President Richard Brock says mid-February will be a crucial time for corn. “That will determine revenue crop insurance. If prices are as high as they are right now, I know many people disagree, but I think corn acres will increase in 2022.” Brock says most of his clients applied anhydrous in the fall and there’s not as much concern going into the spring. Soybean acres will likely also see an increase in the spring. “Prices this high typically lead to big acreage increases. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. It’s the time to be locking in near-record profits.”
