Corteva Agriscience is launching a new insecticide for corn and soybeans for the 2022 growing season. U.S. Crop Protection Launch Leader Eric Scherder says the Ridgeback insecticide offers two modes of action and is designed for the Northern Cornbelt. It targets difficult-to-control insects including pyrethroid-resistant soybean aphids and spider mites. “It is a new opportunity to bring quick knockdown and some unique attributes with the isoclast active in there with its translaminar movement meaning we can apply to the top side of the leaf and it actually moves to the bottom side where we see those aphids.”
