Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack are asking the world’s leading ocean carriers to help mitigate ag export disruptions. Ocean carriers are making fewer containers available for U.S. ag commodities, changing return dates and charging unfair fees. The administration leaders want carriers to fully use full terminal capacity on the west coast. A letter sent on Thursday is addressed to the presidents of CMA CGM America, Wan Hai Lines America, COSCO North America and 10 other shipping companies. Read the letter.
