The U.S. Justice Department is challenging United Sugar’s proposed acquisition of Imperial Sugar Company, citing antitrust concerns. United Sugar is a marketing cooperative that includes American Crystal Sugar Company, Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative and Wyoming Sugar Company. A lawsuit challenging the DOJ decision is expected.
