As sunflower harvest continues in the Dakotas and Minnesota, National Sunflower Association Executive Director John Sandbakken says sunflower prices remain strong at crush plants. “Normally, we would see a harvest low and this year we’re not seeing that,” said Sandbakken. “The market realizes the crop is going to be shorter than what we had last year so they’re bidding for it.” Sunflower oil contracts for 2022 were out in August, earlier than most years.
