Plymouth, Nebraska based custom forage harvester Glen Jantzen is finished with his custom harvest season. “We wrapped up the first week of October. Corn harvest for grain is behind average pace for some areas.” Jantzen says this year’s season went fast, but the crop was very good. “We did the majority of our silage chopping in northeast Kansas and Nebraska. There were dry areas not far from our harvest, but the corn silage did well. Central Nebraska had the best yields they’ve ever had.”
