The United States broke a new value record for beef exports in August. Sales topped the $1 billion mark for the first time. There was record business with China and the largest beef export totals for the year to Japan. Pork exports are trending ahead of last year’s record pace. Chinese demand for pork muscle cuts declined, but the sale of pork variety meats was up. The U.S. exported a record amount of pork to Mexico.
