More soybean crush facilities being built in North Dakota could encourage growth in the state’s livestock industry. North Dakota Livestock Alliance Executive Director Amber Boeshans sees potential for growth in many areas. “What comes first, the chicken or the egg? In all reality, the animals come with the feed. As these announcements come out and as our feed infrastructure continues to grow, those animals will come with it. It will be an exciting thing to watch over the next few years.” Soybean meal is a high value protein resource. “It’s a very important ingredient. Freight is always a cost everyone looks at for all aspects of a business. To have a feed source ready and reliable in the state, would be huge.”
